We are glad to inform that our wine Mediterraneo 2014 Rosso Salento won the Silver Medal *** by Selection contest of Wein Magazin.
Fondo del Sole came about when three Italians, Salvo Ferraro and the Buoso brothers, Gian Paolo and Valeriano, decided to produce and sell Italy's finest wines under a single registered trademark.
Mediterraneo
Mediterraneo arise from a selection of the best Primitivo, Negroamaro and Cabernet grapes. Fermentation is done in steel barrels under controlled temperature, then the wine is aged for 6-months in little french-american oak's barrels.
Colour: intense, nearly impenetrable ruby red. Aroma: complex wine with initial fruity notes of currant, blackberry, plum; then spicy notes of white pepper and balsamic notes of Mediterranean scrub as sage, rosemary, eucalyptol and final cocoa, licorice and coffee notes. Flavour: wine with generous taste and at the same time harmonic and complex, impeccable, velvety, with juicy final tannins. Best with: grilled and roasted meats, ragouts; stews, cured meats. Serving temperature: 16°-18° C.
