Barbaresco is made from autochthonous Nebbiolo grapes, known since Roman times (II century AD), and cultivated in Barbaresco and its surrounding areas. The name Nebbiolo originates from the late ripening of the grapes, which postpones the harvest to when the first mists (or nebbia) of autumn rise. Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo. Colour: intense ruby red. Bouquet: ripe fruit. Taste: tannic, persistent. Ageing: 12 months in French oak barrels, 6 months in the bottle.
